Crawling Baby

Dylan has started crawling! You know you're in trouble when the baby is in one spot when you leave the room for just a minute and then come back to find him in a whole other room! Dylan has started scooting himself around on the floor, aiming for Cheerios left behind by his brother or anything that may be in his path. It really is a fun time with him nowadays. He's started making more noises "Bah Bah Bah" and continues to do his customary growling when we talk back to him - it's really quite funny! I keep hoping his growing will slow down, but he's at a whopping 23 pounds at only 7 months! Maybe now that he's on the move, that will change.

Deployment #3

As many of you know, Scott will be deploying again to Afghanistan in January. It is scheduled to be a year long deployment right now, but he may get the opportunity to come home early! I'm trying hard to not think about him coming home early and am instead planning on him being away for a full 12 months. That way, when the Army makes it's decision, I can be prepared for the bad news and delighted if we get good news.
During the deployment, the boys and I will be moving to Minnesota to live with my parents. We'll be selling our house here in Watertown to get a jump on Scott's PCS (change of station for you civilian folk) when he returns from his deployment. Basically that means that once Scott returns home we will no longer be at Fort Drum. Where will we be? No one knows. The top 3 choices are; Ft. Leavenworth, KS, Ft. Benning, GA and West Point, NY. Whether we get any of these choices is yet to be determined. Until then, we continue to enjoy the holiday season in the snowiest part of the country (over 2 ft already this year!).

If any of you are wondering about the pictures on the side of my blog and what our obsession with high ranking military officials is, well, here's my goal; Scott or I will meet and have a picture taken with all members of Scott's command before Scott retires from the Army. So far, we're doing pretty well. This is what we have - Lieutenant Colonel, Colonel, Major General, General, and Secretary of Defense. This is what we need - a picture with The President of the United States.
